My sister and I are four 1/2 years apart. We have some personality differences, but we also have many similarities. She is the only one I know with my ethnic mixture of Armenian, German, & Native American. She shared my childhood. Those two things, plus a love of books and history, bind us together.

This is a great question from Alice. I’ve often wondered the same thing. There is a huge age difference between me and my siblings, 10 years and I often wished when I was growing up that I had a sister or brother close in age to me.
It always makes me smile to know Shelby and you are so close now, geographically. It actually brings me some comfort where both of you are concerned. You both have all you need now. It's all come together in all parts of your lives.
Of course, she led me to you for which I am eternally grateful and I love the two of you immensely.
Great question. Very thoughful, loving answer. I discovered you because of first being a fan of hers. First saw her on The Ralph Emory show in the previous century. It was that appearance and others that I decided that if I ever was in her presence. I would behave because I'm could tell that I'd regret it (if I survived). And you were as gentle as a lamb.
