Just a bit of serendipity. I visited Texas for the first time in 1982 and that’s when I met my first wife. A group of us travelled down to Corpus Christi to sing and play in a church down there. During our trip we went to Port Aransas and I took some great photos, the best of which hung on a wall in our home for many years. One of my retirement projects is to digitize my best photos and that Port Aransas photo must be among the boxes i
of slides somewhere.
Thanks for thinking of us Allison even when you were on a fishing trip!
Love The Paper Kites new tune. For those unfamiliar with them, They have a few EPS release around 2010 and 11 but their albums On the Train Ride Home and On The Corner where you Live are really good. Allison, always enjoy hearing your outlook on life. It's always uplifting so if someone is a little down when they come to your site, they'll likely leave feeling a lot better - what better thing to do for another person.
"How much solitude can a person seek without becoming isolated?" SUCH an important question. A fine line. There's a sheer scrim between solitude and isolation, and it's so easy to inadvertently step into the latter while seeking the former. I try and balance this all the time. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't, and I always have to remind myself to be kind to myself when it happens. Also, Port Aransas looks gorgeous. x
Port Aransas? Wonderful! We spent a couple days there the spring before Harvey. Saw FAR more wildlife there - birds, dolphins, etc. - than at the northern end of Padre Island. Rode bikes all over.
One night, coming out of a restaurant after dinner, we were greeted by a golf cart Mardi Gras parade, complete with beads. That place is truly unique.
Well, I’ve never heard of Port Aransas Beach before, so you’ve enlightened me already. Secondly, I love your morning prayer and will be pinning it on my brightest post-it note. Self-care and solitude are always on my Sunday list!
I forward and share and talk about, hoping to plant the seed even if others don’t understand yet, why I urge them as if it’s a train they need to catch NOW! Reading the Sunday list has become part of my carve outs for sanity. It feels more like a conversation with someone I’ve known a while. Thank you
Maybe because we have endured so many storms in our area this year the photos of the boat ride really spoke to me. That’s one of my favorite places to be, on a motor boat, on a lake. Total freedom and peace. Happy you got to experience that! Brought memories back of fishing/crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay with my grandparents and also with my dad. Some of the best memories of my life. Thanks for bringing those back. The nature photos are glorious.

I’m always looking for the sweet spot these days. How to go with the flow instead of feeling dragged?

Thanks, Alice.
For my Sunday I got my new turntable working and the first album played - Not Dark Yet. A great way to start the week.
Sounds good!
Love this prayer....
It takes a strong core to dance on one's toes to make the balance between the social and the solitude possible!
It does. Working on it.

Thank you, Judy. I’m so glad to hear that. I’m a natural collector so it feels good to me to share all of the bits in my mind.
