I’m always amazed that you have so many interesting and meaningful things to say every week. Along with your many hobbies and pursuits, you have such keen observations to share. You’re an inspiring Renaissance woman in the true sense of the word!
Winnie seems to have matured quite a bit. I don’t think “patience” was the adjective you would have used when she was a puppy--lol.
Hi Allison. Between the quote you opened your post with today, and your comment “ I don’t want the book to end” took me right to Amazon and I found a gently used copy for $8. Win
I read a preview and her description of the Italian cuisine and the what I expect will be an interesting read of the 4 women! The food descriptions reminds me of your friend Libby (whom I follow on substack) is currently taking us through her adventures in France. We are In currently looking for treasures & antiques.
The aquarium is beautiful. I looked at the company you named that designs these. They are beautiful. As is Susan’s commissioned piece you painted. So many intricate symbols placed throughout the painting.
I always appreciate the book and music selections you offer. I like to read and don’t do it nearly enough. I like your choices, so I do buy them and always enjoy them. Thank you.
Thank you too, for the good reminders of balance.
Oh before I forget. I looked at the Trine meaning meaning / natal chart. I think it is spot on for you. I think you embody all of those qualities. Pretty wonderful to me. Have a great week!
Jazz classics? One of my favorite albums is “The Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven” - Louis Armstrong. Dixieland jazz recorded in the later 1920’s. You CAN’T stay in a bad or “down” mood listening to that.
Doubt it would be very good music for painting, though. It’s just too upbeat and vibrant.
Couldn’t help but notice The Book of Longings - next to the fish tank. Omg. I have told countless people about this masterpiece. I hope you loved it like I did. ❤️
I wanted to recommend a recent novel by a woman you might find interesting: A Song For A New Day, by Sarah Pinsker. It won the Nebula Award a few years ago. It's a dystopian novel, and the main character is a musician dealing with the new state of affairs in the world, where live performance has been shut down. Sarah is a former touring musician (I saw her play at Balticon at the end of the May.) This novel came out before the pandemic lockdown -- 2019 -- but it's kind of prescient. You'll definitely get the references in her work -- she has a wonderful Greil Marcus joke in one of her short stories. (I've read both her collections. The pool at my building closed after the 4th for repairs, so I spent June getting as much time as I could sunbathing and reading, and I polished off a bunch of collections and anthologies.)
"Doesn't the world tell us enough cold, hard truth?" Yes, I'm here to say it does.
ps: Winnie is all I knew she would be. You all be safe in your travels.

Safe & happy travels this week!
That little aquarium is beyond adorable. Obviously put together with love by an artist's tender hand. It's beautiful. 🙏

I'm glad to be part of this group of people. And that in some way we are connected to you. I love you. Hearing you sing the other day was a treat.❤️

Gonna check out the movie. Thanks for tip. I lean towards total truth always.... (hard as it may be) bc it comes out one way or another anyway.
Book sounds great as well, but my piles of books are about to topple over🙃so will make a note for future.
Love it when you don’t want a book to end... isn’t that the best?!
Love the foot/paw photo😍
Take care on your travels🎶🩷

Haven’t read it yet! It’s waiting for me.
Have you read Sue Monk Kidd’s - When the heart Waits? I read that 10 years ago. I am 64 (almost) now. It was timely for me then. Recommend highly ❤️
Twice 🤍
