Hi Allison

What a nice day you’ve had! So many good things to ponder from your post today. Dharma VS Dogma. Wow that’s going to take some thought. What an interesting comparison. Fraught with lots of dispute. And I love what you said about Attention. To the highest form like a prayer. Today, I recognize that to be true.

Sweet picture of JH. Enjoying the porch with his feet up. Peaceful

Thank you for such a thought provoking post today.

Enjoyed it so much. Definitely a reread several times for me 😊

Great song recommendation! I hear a little Adele with a softer side in her voice. I’m keeping that sentiment as my mantra for this week, even though I’m no longer a kid.

I feel that I've said too much on these pages already, but my intentions have been good. All the best ahead and I love you

I don’t often indulge in light fare like “Wanderlust” The Paul Rudd mirror scene had me snorting Diet Coke out my nose in the theatre! I appreciate films like this to lighten me up from my typical heavy thinking - which in turn teaches me something ;)

Always look forward to your Sunday lists 🙏

A lovely Sunday list and always much to ponder. I wish I’d worked in the yard today since the sun was shining but had other chores to tend to. Love the photo of John Henry. Peaceful. Beautiful lighting. Thank you for your words once again. I take them with me everyday. Loved this young lady and her voice and song.

Dharma versus Dogma?

Dharma is believed by some to be about the metaphysical "real truth."

Dogma is about various physical perceptions of the so-called truth.

Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate. And when questioned, Jesus said: “I was born for this; I've come into the world for this: to give evidence about the truth. Those who listen to my voice, listen to the Truth."

Pilate responded, “What is truth?” Thus, the greatest philosophical question of all time became "Dharma."

Physical "truth?"

"You might be a rock ’n’ roll addict prancing on the stage

You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage

You may be a business man or some high-degree thief

They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief"

"But you’re going to have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You’re going to have to serve somebody

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you’re going to have to serve somebody" - Bob Dylan

Metaphysical Truth:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him." - Genesis

To those who believe in the metaphysical, God may be the only Truth they need to know to explain Existence. Strive for: right thought, right view, right aim, right speech, right activity, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration and right living and you will live a Right Life. _ MRVERITAS.SUBSTACK.COM
