History celebrates great minds, especially those whom honest historians generally understand and agree with. However, the greatest minds who ever existed have all failed to prove the reasons for Being & Existence! The metaphysical escapes definitive definitions and understanding by all of them! Each individual human who cares, continues to debate and be puzzled by Questions of Existence:
Who am I?
Why was I born?
What is my purpose?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why do I feel guilty about my human failings"
"I am that I am" (Exodus 3:14) may satisfy some, but Faith in your individual value is essential. Perhaps, the answers to the mysteries of your life story can only be metaphysically known. However, guilty feelings are simply a tool that can be used against you, by you. When no real "sin" is present, guilt is being misused, and needs to be renounced. Love yourself as "the great Spirit" loves you, and no harm can ever permanently hurt you, You are loved, dear Allison. - MRVERITAS-SUBSTACK.COM

I'm stuck there and so appreciate your guidance further up that footpath, if I can get to that place where each step illuminates itself and the way to the next.
When it comes to not being the center of the universe, someone you know well once told me, "No one gives a **** about you." I needed to hear it, and I don't think anything less than that was going to get the message across. I stopped writing myself into every piece of my fiction, and it's improved drastically.
I think you're doing pretty well. You had some history many would not have been able to cope with. We'de like it to go faster, but if it did we'de probably spin to quickly. :)

Taking responsibility for our actions is one of the most difficult things we can do but if done correctly then the rewards outweigh the difficulties
