"Be the love of your life." I saw that on Instagram today. It immediately grabbed me. I'm working on self-love. I find the more I stop judging myself and start loving myself, the more I stop judging others. I can love others more the more I love myself.

Allison: Your words struck a special place in my heart on this lonely Valentines Day without my "baby-girl," who died of insidious cancer almost two years ago. We were married for 56 years, almost literally growing up together. I wrote the following poem to her, based on why she said she loves me, and has always considered me to be her best friend:

"Why do you love me so much," I asked her? "You know I am dangerous!"

"I love you the more for it," she replied.

"Yes, you are dangerous."

"Perhaps even "crazy."

"You can be arrogant."

"You can be too self-assured at times."

"You can be aggressive."

"You can be ostentatious."

"You can be overbearing and a bit egotistic."

"But you will never let anybody hurt me without retribution."

"I also know that you respect and love me so much

that you will fight to the death for me!"

"And you will kill to protect me and our children."

"You are also a good provider. A generous man."

"You are a passionate lover."

"And a caring father to our children"

"What more can any woman expect from her man?"

"It is not the dying that makes me so sad."

"Its now much I'm going to miss you." - Mr. Veritas
