I enjoy your storytelling, Facebook posts, book and For the Record. Would you share some words about your art art, e.g. the medium, personal symbolism, etc.? Enquiring minds!
HI Allison, I enjoy all your thoughtful, personable posts and of course the music. Was digging Old 55, Pardon Me, and The Ties that Bind just yesterday! I've always been curious if you had the same rough experience in Nashville as Shelby, which always reminded me of the old studio system in Hollywood that exchanged freedom & choice for stardom? Was that also the case for you?
I like the idea of incorporating a Q&A into this forum. I would be interested in knowing if there was a specific book that you read as a child or young adult that particular resonated with you and shaped your passion and/or style of writing. For me, it was “To Kill a Mockingbird,” which is a book that many people love. Thanks!
Hey Allison… I really enjoy your efforts to share your music, creativity and amazing talent in such a personal way.. I’ve always loved your music and now you share the amazing person behind it…
What would you consider the most creative time of your career and what song do you consider your favorite?
Two questions—first, have you been songwriting since “Blood?” If so, what do we have to look forward to?
Second, I’m hoping to make a trip to Nashville, probably in September. Do you occasionally perform around town when things are normal? I’d love to see you live.
Allison: you have assembled quite a family of friends who love you a lot. Your need to have an outlet for your work during horrifying circumstances has turned into one heck of a crew. I believe it turns out that we needed you as much as you needed an outlet. It is pretty special. ❤❤❤.
Sooooo many questions...I hope I can think of the ones I most want to ask.
1. When you decided to do this, did you have questions in mind you were hoping to get asked? On the converse, were there questions you don't want to have to have asked?
2. One of my favorite songs of yours seems to be one of your less favorites...'Believe you me." What was going on with you that influenced that song and how do you feel about it now. What changed for you, if anything that affects your perception of that song?
3. If there is a person you have not collaborated with, but could, who would that be?
4. What song did you not write, but wish you had or would consider a perfect or near perfect song? (I consider so many of your pieces as perfection!)
Mmmm...this is gonna’ take some thought, AM. So many questions. However, it saddens me that even here you have to to remind people to be kind. Why would anyone treat you any other way, especially here? JB
I’m curious, do you think the challenges we experience in life shape us more than the victories? Are they more likely to inform our artistic expression? Do they draw us closer to God and Spirit? Would our life be shallow without them? On a lighter note, I’d also love to know which makeup line you use. Your skin is flawless! Thanks for all you do, and for sharing your heart so openly. God bless you!
We share the same initials, we both write - https://andymelrose99.wixsite.com/mysite/blog - and sing but we travelled different paths, in the UK I am a Professor of Writing with music and writing a sideline, on the other hand in the US you are a Professional writer and musician with professing a sideline. Did you ever wonder how two people with the same initials could travel in very similar ways and yet down a different track? I love reading your work BTW.
I really like this idea.. I’m enjoying the substack and all the cool places you can take this Allison… want to give some good thought to a question …
Something that I’d most especially like to know… most probably about your writing ability & how or which parent you believe you got that gift from
Perhaps it was another family member?
Thank you Allison

I second Danny's question. I am just as curious about them.

What helped you heal the most from your childhood?
Dear Allison, You are my very favorite female singer. How do I acquire a signed photo of you? Thanks & God Bless Eugene Holmquist

Outside of the USA and Canada, if there were only one place in the world you could visit, where would it be?

Thank you for being so wonderful to your people aka us. When will you tour and where? Also, can I send you a copy of my book?
