I like where you are. I'll bet everything happened just as it should have :). My GF came from Australia to have me help on an album. Bruce Lundvall at Bluenote was crazy for her. But all those things you described tossed around in her head like mad.
Surely you know by now going the commercial route has its pitfalls too, with some totally regretting the decision to go that route because of compromises that had to be made. Anyway, I think you have and are continuing to do good work. That’s what really matters.
I am surprised that you were not aware of your sister’s (Shelby Lynne) music career. That two you didn’t discuss the business of music. Just saying!
