I had a bit of writer's block this week. I made myself sit in front of my laptop and write. That always works.

I have an idea for an essay called The Tyranny of the Blank Page. 😂

I really love the idea of artistic pause and have never been a fan of the word block. By saying one is blocked, it almost invites less creativity. Your answer has truly resonated.

"artistic pause" You have such a wonderful way with words. I am looking forward to reading your novel one day. As an artist, I appreciate my fallow periods being reframed as a pause. I know some artists get freaked out by lack of output. I do not and I never doubt there will be more but I still think it's good for us to talk about our art carefully.

Love artistic pause! So helpful. The idea of a block invites resistance which only lends itself to more blocking. A pause feels way more positive and like permission to spend energy elsewhere, allowing stuck energy and ideas to move on their own time in the background. Thanks for the reframe ❤️
