Very interesting. I first heard you do that song on Youtube of an appearance on Letterman. And I loved it and recognized that it was a left turn from any of your other songs. Very pop. Another left turn and you gave us "The Broken Girl". A song with a similar divergence from country. Nothing country about either of those songs. Great question. Great insight. Thank you both. The Beatles are what got me into playing music.

Allison, after being an unsubscribed member for a while, I opted to join tonight. I love your willingness to reveal so much of yourself to your supporters and I have long been touched by your voice, which connects with my emotions more than almost any singer I have heard. I listen to your Transatlantic Sessions recordings of "Mockingbird" and " Carrickfergus" at least once every week and am moved to tears every time. I think those performances rank among the finest I've ever heard and I've been a practicing musician for most of my 81 years. May you be blessed as your life continues to unfold.

I love that song. It speaks to me more at 51 than it did when you first released it.

One of my favorite questions ever!! I love the glimpses behind the curtain. Art, to me, is truly like magic. Even on the rare occasion I manage to make something I think is cool (it's usually photography), I kind of sit and marvel at it. It's usually just instinct and luck, so hearing the thought process behind the magic is always sooooooo interesting to me!
