I so identify with this and you in this regard. We moved alot as kids( dad was a good salesman so they moved us wherever they need to prop up sales.) I went to 5 different elementary schools, 2 junior high schools. Bit only one hs. I have only 1 friend I have known since we were about 3 years old. But that is all. My older Friends are from js and hs, but atill kot close to any of those either. And I would just as soon forget about the insecure mess I was in hs and college. My best friends I made when I was much older, in my 40s. I wish I had known them early in my life. But that us the past and I cherish them now. In hindsight it was all a gift. I am a much more secure and stable person now and a better friend because I know to cherish them now, for what ever period they are a part of my life. I know and understand what it is to be the new kid in town. And to this day I actively seek out those new unconnected people and bring them into the fold. I remember what it was like to be the new kid and overlooked.
What you're describing as being a "survivor," I'm reframing as building "resilience." You don't need to be made of steel to gain the ability to deal with challenges and still be vulnerable. You have incredible strength of character and that's a gift in itself. Looking forward to hearing more about your current writing project. And, yes, I will be at the Sissy Show in NY on 5/1 with bells on!
You are nothing short of incredible, in every way. The self deep dives you take and the wisdom you surface with from them are mind bending. As always, I don’t like when you say goodbye. I will miss you but wish nothing but the happiest and healthiest Summer yet to you, JH, HC, WM and WC! Please do come back soon. JB
Thank you for these posts over the last few months or see fascinating I sight into you as a person and your musical history and development

I'm also at a stage of my life where I want to do more than just survive. I want to be in the moment and enjoy those moments.
Stunning and brave. And eloquent as hell.
It makes me happy to know that you are working on a new writing project. I know good things will come from that. ❤️

Wonderful sentiment. The way you have with the printed word inspires and empowers us.
