I loved the song then and love it now. It resonates with me. Don't we all need an angel? Sometimes that angel comes in the form of another person or a pet. Sometimes we are the angel in another person's life.

This is one of those songs that is permanently stuck in my head. (It's this and "Boys of Summer" by Don Henley, so you're in good company)

For some reason, I always had it my my head that Jay Bennett was the keyboardist on this track. You learn something new every day :)

If you like heartbreak, broken romance, deep felt lyrics, great production and Allison's wonderful voice, that whole album was super great. That type of music is so soul searching wonderful but just doesn't seem to click with the radio and the mainstream. Thanks Allison. Saw you in Deep Ellum Dallas, TX a million years ago now. You're still on the top my list.

I love this song and album! Call me crazy, but I have always thought you had a Cher like phrasing/tone on this song. I could see her doing this song with Greg Allman. Thanks for sharing your memories on these songs.

My wife of 31 years is my angel. Perhaps I should tell her on her Valentines Day birthday. I’m pretty poor at that sort of thing. Absolutely love this song!

I did, and she asked me if I’m I’ll! We had a laugh.

"Angel" seems like it could be your "Strawberry Fields", in terms of feel and texture--such a fantastic song. I LOVE that one.

Allison: please please please give us some B-sides and outtakes...please?
