You looked and sounded like an angel on the Academy Awards. That really was a pivotal moment in your career. “The Horse Whisperer” is on TV quite frequently, so the song gets a lot of airplay — and deservedly so. I’m so glad you still enjoy singing it because we never get tired of hearing it!
Never knew that was nominated for an Academy Award. Such a great song - it’s what got my attention in that movie - had to find out who was singing it and I’ve been a fan ever since 😊
It’s when you won my heart from Shelby, as I fell for her first and the backstory of your childhood and being sisters, I am a old man now but I love you girls because I fill a kindred spirit , you deserve all the accolades for your talent and your love for your sister, One Love!
OMG!!! You had such an incredible experience with “A Soft Place to Fall”, Allison! It’s always been one of my Faves, as well as The Horse Whisperer”. I own a copy of the movie. Awesome about meeting Redford (swoon) when you were in the movie … & then singing at the Oscars after Renee Z’s intro, then Whoopi sighing. I’ve seen that performance👏🙂🎶
Such an awesomely complex song. Reminds me of a special relationship, I always felt we were each others 'soft place'...Thank you for the memories Nick... and Allison.
What an incredible journey. I cannot even begin to imagine the emotions you must have been feeling at the grammy performance. You pulled it off with the grace of a goddess! Thank you for sharing, Allison!
The first time I heard A Soft Place to Fall was in the movie and it grabbed me then and never let go. I lost my soft place to fall 60 years ago and never found one to come up to it and I'm 80 years old. The words echo my heart and I will forever love this song even tho I cry every time I listen to it. Thanks Allison, you are a genius with lyrics and your voice is otherworldly.
The pride that pours out of this installment is charming and absolutely justified. Congratulations!
Yes! Loved reading this post!

It was the first song of yours I ever heard. Loved it then, and still do. Great to hear the stories behind it.
