Thank you once again for “food for thought”. The one thing that left me puzzled this week was the expression “Halloween Cat”. I guess that expressing doesn’t cross the Atlantic very well. I tried to find a colloquial mean but without success. Px❤️
Allison: coincidences: today I was talking to a friend and he mention being nice to his amygdala. I said "what is that". He told me. First time that I am aware of ever hearing that term. So here we are, about 6 hours later and I read the term here. Hmmm. Just as I am studying foods that I need to engage in "lifestyle changes" which I translate as lose weight and exercise. I want to be nice to my amygdala. Shelby, Mandy and Emily have formed a supergroup of singing. God bless them and You too and John Henry and Hayes. Rock on❤
Highly recommend you stick with Shrinking. it made me cry a lot as it deals with loss of a mother, but it's really really wonderful and worth hanging in there for.
Another Sunday list packed with all kinds of goodies. Your classic black notebook speaks volumes, and I’m curious whether you’ve had any vivid dreams from EMDR therapy.
I haven’t watched Shrinking, but cringe-worthy doesn’t sound like much of an endorsement. Have you watched The Diplomat on Netflix yet?
Once again you have blown me away with your writing and your beautiful artwork but today I'd like to comment on what you said about HalloweenCat I haven't heard that since I was a child thank you Allison for reminding me of a part of my childhood that I had forgotten
I really liked Shrinking. I thought it got better with each episode. By the last episode I felt they were trying to develop all of the characters, not just the dad and daughter.
An undiscovered film that is pure edge, genius and heart. MY FIRST MISTER. Albert Brooks, John Goodman, Leelee Zobrieski. Christine Lahti's one and only film. Should be on a TOP TEN list of movies. Free on You Tube. A few bucks on Amazon

Otherwise known as “fraidy cat.” You know, the cat with its back all arched and up. 🤍
Thanks for the explanation! ☺️🙏❤️
I've spent a lot of time in those same parks in NYC as JH.
This shot brings back the days and posts where he was stomping in puddles and fountains and any water he could find. I miss those pics and times.
Water. Oh how he and I are always drawn to it.
I'll never give up the hope of teaching him to surf one day. Just once.
Happy Anniversary to Hayes and yourself. A million more!
With love,
Bird

No doubt that shirt is love & comforting to JH
Happy Anniversary Allison & HC 💕
Great thoughts and music. Momma's arms in that shirt. Happy Anniversary!

Be kind to yourself, Allison. You deserve it.
I also have complex PTSD. I'm tired of living in constant fight or flight. I'm actively seeking out ways to calm my nervous system.

Allison, Always nice to hear from you❤️Can’t wait to read Lucinda’s memoir, with that title from one of my fav Lucinda songs.
Are you watching Succession? I got hooked in. Love the photo of John Henry (and the shirt) Happy Anniversary💘🙂
PS wISH so badly I could see Shelby & her new group live!!!!!
“May I also be patient with others as they do the same.”
Amen, Sistah.
I find Shrinking is much bologna: I am aware, while consuming it, that it's not good, but I am strangely compelled to continue.
