I think I created a yummy breakfast dish. I used left over king cake, sliced it at a diagonal and dipped in egg, vanilla l, a tiny dash of maple syrup and cinnamon then cooked it in olive oil for french toast. With it I included a healthy serving of collard greens (also from the same pan with olive oil) and to garnish, two small slices of swiss cheese. Yum. Maybe John Henry will like it too. Happy New Year.
While you’re exploring the word vocation in a spiritual sense, I was struck by your comparison of self-focused vs. self-centered. It made me think more about centering oneself in an emotional and spiritual way. Centering is necessary for balance both physically and psychologically to achieve wellbeing. Of course, you know this from yoga regarding meditation. So, I’m focusing on that concept to start the week as a tool for self-care.
I bought the book 7000 ways to listen and started it yesterday. I sent copies to my kids and a few family members. I’ve started to set up a space for meditation, reading and coffee. Thanks for your weekly inspiration.
Ms Allison: Not sure if I've entered my periapatic phase, primarily because although I have seen that word, I have zero idea its meaning and for the life of me, I can't seem to resist pulling your leg even though I'm always concerned that you'll put me on a figurative ice flow to join my elders. Although I haven't taken a poll, I'm wildly guessing that every person on this here train would prefer being in a room with you than Ms Stewart, accomplished as she may be. Finally a piece of graffiti on the cover of Exiles On Main Street says " Yin Yang Be my Thang" pretty sure they are referring to the symmetry that exists throughout our universe. Which is the most convincing concrete evidence that our universe was created by a Higher Power of some sort. I love you and yours and this group
Again, your book suggestions and reflections on this list are gold.
I’m familiar with Nepo but had not approached this book until recently. Its arrival on my stack is so timely for my current chapter. It’s now part of my morning “get my head on straight” reading before I attempt to write or have a second cup of coffee. Marked up with pen sticky notes flagging pages as if there will be a test later ;)

Self care is so important I'm glad you're doing the right thing for your life
It’s somewhat disconcerting that we have to constantly remind ourselves to do so!
I suppose it is I've never thought of it in like that thank you for pointing it out to me
Thanks Angie long time no talk

CBS Sunday Morning had a segment on a Broadway Play about Austic individuals played by Austic individuals. Check it out

I obviously don't even know how to spell paripepetic.
Oh I forgot to tell you... I found a stone shaped like a heart today! ❤️🎉
The Call by Os Guinness is a great book on vocation.
