I hope you make it safe home 💕🌸💕

I feel I have to share a dog story. My wife and I divorced in the early 90s. I had the chance to work in Europe again and that made things easier but my “two girls” stayed with my wife in Maine. I visit though and spent time with the girls, the “old lady” Shonagh and the “Tomboy” Thistle both Shelties.

I had visited and was up coast in Maine when I got a call from my Ex. “Shonagh isn’t happy. I think it’s because you didn’t spend time with her without Thistle. Can you stop in on your way back to Boston?”.

I did of course and spent time with Shonagh without Thistle being around. Shonagh seemed happy and content.

That trip was the last time I saw Shonagh. Maybe she knew? Don’t tell me animals don’t have souls!

Sorry your brief visit to NY turned out to be so stressful. Traveling is not the most pleasant these days, and weather delays make it even more harrowing. I hope you get a good nights sleep with Willie at your side.

Always love hearing about Willie (and Petey before him, though he was a road warrior in your bag and a different soul) and Winnie. I know you know how I feel about your dogs and mine, right AM?

As for Laguardia without your meds, I wouldn't want to deal with that or Kennedy even with them. Why not Newark?

Glad you're home safe. Willie will adjust quickly now. Sleep well. JB

Rather than retract my question-which was driven by my absolute disdain for LaGuardia and Kennedy-out of respect to you, AM, I looked and I see you had no choice on a Direct Flight but for Spirit Airlines out of Newark. I should have known better than to question a World Traveler and New Yorker for some time. Apologies. JB

They say it's Mercury Retrograde that holds cancellations, accidents, etc.. and losing things, etc... Sure sounds like it and this one hit me, too. It's turns back on the 15th. I love the red paintings, and Lotus Flower, too. Glad you're home safe... and p.s. I loved Under The Tuscan Sun movie... Now I want to read the book. Thank you.

Glad you're doing the Ken Burns thing. He is such a brilliant storyteller, weaving real people's stories among the subject matter that make it so much richer and nuanced. I just watched the Frank Lloyd Wright one (only two episodes, not too long), and came away so much smarter about the ornery genius. Worth a watch.

You mention “Under the Tuscan Sun”.

My very good friend Chris wrote The White Line Rolls around 30:years ago. It is an

exceptional piece of writing, and needs a wider audience. Verse 2 goes like this:

Driving down through Tuscany in the early morning haze

And it’s burnt sienna rooftops, and San Gimignano days

And the sun is on the single tree and the everlasting vines

And it’s greens and browns and red and gold, and visionary signs

And the white line rolls…………

Wise words, Allison, don’t you think?

In an ideal world we would have you pick up your old 00018 Martin and sing this

wonderful song. Nobody could sing it better.

A man can dream.

Kindest regards

Alex

Disruptions. Yeah, they happen. My life for the next two weeks is being disrupted in a big way. Having c-PTSD means it causes anxiety. I know you get it as all childhood trauma survivors do. I'm definitely pro-medication now. Where would I be without it.

Love this as always. Glad you made it home okay. Willie is a lucky dog. And that Georgia O'keefe quote - color, yes! It's everything!

All life is indeed born of the feminine. I agree, it is time to give rebirth to and honor the sovereignty of sacred feminine principles, values, and universal laws that apply to all life that is sustained by the grandest of Mamas, Mother Earth. (Personal two cents). Appreciate the thought prompt and YOU!

So glad you made it home in one piece! Air travel is definitely trying on everyone these days. Still, we go and we fly.

When I return to Nashville next week for AmericanaFest and a couple of family/friend visits shoehorned in, I look forward to what I see as an uplifting of women in the industry.

Like no other sector of music, I always come away from this conference with a warmed heart and hope for the future. There is still a lot of work to do. I support all who are doing it.

Ken Burns is probably the only reason I have a TV, other than “The Bear” 😉

I trust that you got back home. I just came back to a home of sorts: this page. Life has been crazy for a while. But I've made some friends here. And I can't help it but I love you. All the best
