Thank you for this, Allison. And especially for finally doing a Sissy album. I had pneumonia the night you played in Philly August 2017 but would not have missed it for the world.
I just realized, in this era of awareness about wreckless germ spreading, I should add that I was RECOVERING from pneumonia when you and Shelby hit World Cafe Live in Philly August 2017. Just completed treatment and no longer infectious but a weak lamb. Catching you and your sister on stage together was the best medicine and so good for my heart. Thank you for hitting Philly on that tour. I hope there's more to come.
I love you and Shelby's version of "Not Dark Yet" recorded at Electric Lady in NYC. (I have a picture of me standing in front of Electric Lady). Very cool that you've had opportunities such as that. I have a friend who is friends with Bob.(yeah he let's me call him Bob. Yeah right). Bob likes boxing so he likes to hang out wuth Tommy Hearns). Thanks for telling us. I love when you fill.in the blanks such as why are you at that studio doing this song and both of you dressed up and looking good.
I hadn't seen your video when I wrote my little bit. So, yes, that is a hell of an honor to be in the book. He has had a huge impact on culture in this country. And the tendrils of his reach are wide ranging. You belong there with your work. Much love❤️
i got one of the first printed editions of that book with the bourbon and havent yet decided to keep it wrapped and safe and clean for some reason or open and check it out lol anywy thanks for sharing Allison Moorer - SJOCR
omg I’ve been jonesing for a reason to head to Tulsa, OK (??? why oh lord why tulsa??) to visit Bob’s archive and what better time than this! Your & Shelby’s Not Dark Yet is sublime and superb - I have played that for I don’t know how many people. What an honor indeed and SO well deserved, Allison!!!
Another feather to add to your colorful cap! What a great opportunity to meld music and writing in your unique, creative fashion. "Not Dark Yet" is a treasure and honors the work of Dylan in such a brilliant and heartfelt way. Can't wait to read your contribution to the book.
Good morning from SC. Have you heard of Becca Stevens? She is doing amazing work in Nashville and around and the world . I love her story and her books.
I want to read that too! lol..I’m slowly reading the first two I started , I’m reading the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, Christopher David Richardson..I’ts not the actual text, that I’ve read , so far but more of a historical presence .

I live in Tulsa and have visited this incredible place many times. You never never go through it enough!
We aliens love Uncle Bob, don't we, Allison?
Don't tell Bob, but I prefer your and Shelby's version. So deeply emotive.
Just curious, did you discuss with Hayes allowing Johnny to use your basement to mix up the "medicine"?

He is from Hibbing as I am. No one understands the Range unless you live there and so many of his songs refer to life there.
Love!

Your version of “Not Dark Yet” is so moving and beautiful. The album is a classic. Nothing much finer than your combined harmonies with your sister.
I truly thank you 💙
