Well hey, Allison. What a nice surprise to hear from you! My phone has a special chime when you post, and when I heard it i immediately smiled. Glad your trip went well. The pictures you posted are sweet. Something so nice about a small town. And you’re absolutely right.. there’s no place like HOME. Having been without one for a bit, I’m grateful to be in my own home now. A level of comfort & goodness hard to describe. joyous to me.
Your plants look very healthy & green. I’m sure they “ enjoyed “ the attention they got from you after being gone for a bit. I had to have several pine trees removed yesterday that were too close to my home. Definitely would be the first to fall in a storm. And we’ve had some pretty bad ones lately. Also an oak tree, which made me sad to take but it suffered a lightening strike from the ground up. Finally getting window coverings too! So some exciting things for me! Also found some sweet treasures for the house.
Thanks so much for writing tonight. Sure is nice to read your “doings”.
Oh, I wanted to share with you how mindful I’ve been of Presence. You spoke of that last time. It does make a difference. 😊
Enjoy your reading & comforts of home. What a nice summer you’ve shared with JH.
Welcome back home Allison. I flew to Oregon for my son’s 40th birthday. A fun adventure. I returned home grateful for my own bed. Always nice to be able to sit still and regroup. Enjoy. Love all your photos and how your plants are grouped in your yard.
It’s so nice to hear about the summer you’re sharing with John Henry. I love all the photos from the various places you’ve visited. I’m reminded of my favorite book “To Kill a Mockingbird” when I imagine some of the childhood adventures you may have had growing up in Alabama. Have a restful evening--there’s nothing like being at home in your own bed!
I enjoy “Under The Tuscan Sun” but I enjoyed even more, “A Year In Provence” by Peter Mayle. There are many similarities but also differences. Inspired by the TV adaptation of the book, we headed for Provence in the summer of 2001 for are summer holiday and it was unfortunately an unmitigated disaster! For reasons too many to mention here! The picture of the flag hits me deep in the feels. The deeply rooted principles the flag represents and sacred invocations it evokes - suspended and supported by the ‘wind beneath the wings of Great Spirit’ - are everything. The majesty and meaning, of all the things, is wholeheartedly embraced. Thank you for your Sacred Gifts. Grateful Sister. 🦅💜🤟🏼
My grandparents lived about as far south in Georgia as where you grew up in Alabama. Some of those old stores still exit. Occasionally a tobacco barn still stands (almost). I really miss those days. Tobacco auctions. Rattlesnake stories, Baling cotton. Outhouses. All my kin. And everybody calls me Kinny. You do as well in the videos I bought. And just so you know hearing my name that way just floats my boat. Rock on sis
I love your green garden🌿🍃.. am curious what kind of plants you grow in pots. I have a very small space to grow,, so use a lot of pots myself … but they rarely thrive.
As a recently retired teacher, this time in August hits me too.
The ending of languid days, the preparing for bracing, invigorating fall.
I love your plants, Allison. I'm glad you and JH got home safely, too.
Home Sweet Home... enjoy these four weeks, being easy.. I'm basking in as much of August as possible, as well.. much love...

I read Under a Tuscan Sun. It's an interesting read.
Welcome Home! On that note, I recommend “Under the Tuscan Sun”
“the houses that are important to us are the ones that allow us to dream in peace.”

Reading this Allison made me feel like I was home.. thank you..Gerry from Lisburn Northern Ireland 💚
