It’s cold here in Switzerland as well although no where near as cold as it sometimes gets. I will retire in a few weeks. Retire when I’m in Home Office. Well I will have a part-time contract for a while so it’s a bit of a fake retirement. It’s a time of uncertainty and transition so I have been learning Yoga Nidra to help me cope. There is so much I want to do like finally professionally record some of the songs I’ve written. I will have the gift of time to be creative and better appreciate the creativity of others. I‘ve just realized it’s an adventure but I still don’t feel like much of an adventurer. I think I need the Spring to awake me from my slumber.
I have deepened my practice of meditation, of tapping (emotional freedom technique), of prayer. I ask myself, "What are the lies about yourself you are believing, and how can tapping, meditation, and prayer help you let go of them?"
Allison: as always it is good to hear from you. Here in The Motor City, it is also winter and so far no snow that has hung around. Today's high 21. I don't mind the cold but Lord how I hate the snow. I have thought of things similar to what you describe as intention. As I get older' and as I have been fortunate in my life that I can afford an occasional slight luxury, I have thought of taking a few more brief road trips just to get the F out of Dodge. Forever I have thought that what I was currently involved in needed to be done to perfection( Virgo, who gets distracted by shiny objects) and that my life depended on the finished product which, never has been true. Well at 69, the getting around to it time is now. When I think of places, it always involves the south. South Georgia. Time to enjoy a few things. I also hear that Kansas City is going to be hopping around May 8, so that will be a trip to take if, it doesn't get postponed. I have carried on enough. I love you a lot. That boy of yours, now that I've seen that one video blurb, sure looks likes a wonderful youngster. Love to him too
Hi Allison, Your intentions are always good, at least as far as I can tell. You may already know this, but the medical definition of "intention" is the healing process of a wound. Something to keep in mind, as you question your motivations and motivation. I share your dislike of cold weather, (with a passion), but I'm more of a Pilates person than a yogi. It's fine to push yourself to strive to be better, but also respect your limitations. It sounds like you've found some comforting ways to deal with winter, so continue to nurture your spirit until Spring approaches.
Inner honesty is a rare thing. You do well with it. It's always a work in progress. AND, each moment whispers to us. Listening is a good thing. Personally I'm am not as good as I would like. But we're all works in progress
It's a big world, Alison, in southeast Brazil we're up to 80º F , it's summer time, lot's a rain and sunny days too. My meditation come from running, sometimes I begin, with lot's of problems in mind and after one hour running lots of them are solved. Running is part of my life.
My father used to say may he RIP the only wrong question is the one not asked he was a very wise man

This is inspiring!

“Spring waits in the valley,
Beneath the fallen snow,
And gives the heart time to grow”
Always a thoughtful post Allison. 🙏

Good luck best health and wishes for Belfast Northern Ireland Allison
This is good. It makes me think I’m engaged in too much motion and not enough action. That’s where intention comes in. Thank you for these thoughts. 🥰

Oh man...I sure did need to hear this. Thank you.
Allison such a pretty name, it reminds me of an Elvis Costello song. Happy New Year and just breathe, it's all that is required sweetie😁
