Hi friends.
And happy October 11.
The world is so scary. Here’s a way to brighten it, and that makes a difference, no matter how big or small the effort or result is. Our spirits get weighed down when all we allow ourselves is constant bad news updates. Take a breath and celebrate the beauty that we do have today, and even though pressed flowers glued to pumpkins won’t save anyone or anything, they might provide a second of lightness.
Here’s how to create them:
Pick your pumpkin. I love all the colors with all the colors. The perfectionist in me wants them all to match and be uniform, but my heart wants to see it all. So I went with my heart this year and got white, orange, and the pink.
I ordered all my supplies from Amazon. Traffic is too bad here to go out most days.
There’s really no way to mess this up.
Pick and arrange the flowers you’d like to see on your pumpkin
spray a coat of adhesive directly onto the surface of the pumpkin
Place the flowers and allow to dry
Spray a thin coat of varnish to help secure and give shine.
My sister and I had a blast making them!
We’re going to have to grab it and growl, at least for a while.
Joy, that is.
I will follow it, chase it, notice it, and respect it when it blesses me. I am in control of little else but my state of mind and the energy I allow myself to absorb. It’s even showing up in my wardrobe. I haven’t been a color person in many years. And I’m not going to go crazy lady with it, but I am embracing it as a sort of shield. Y’all know I love green, and it has never appealed to me more than it does these days — it is the color of growth, change, balance, rebirth, freshness, progress. I also feel like it repels negativity, as does pink.
Here’s a link to that performance at the John Prine celebration at the Country Music Hall of Fame the other night.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Peace. Love.

Thank you for the John Prine event link. I cannot remember when I was introdiuced to his music, at least 30 years ago. My daughters age 28 and 31 are big fans of his too. He reached everyone.
Joy on....
randomactsofkindnessfoundation.org is a wonderful site to visit for kindness ideas!
My heart was so heavy this morning with the news of the world. I felt guilty feeling any joy. You certainly brought it on with those beautiful pumpkins. Great idea!
The photo of you and Hayes is lovely. I love the different shades of green you put together and those boots! You’ve got style! Thank you for the joy on this autumn day. Peace to the world.
