I’m excited for you & JH. I remember you writing about that difficult trip a few years ago. I shared your anxiety just reading about it. But have no fear this year. It’s going to be smooth sailing and JH will have a great time! I remember seeing a picture of him enjoying the water.
Think of how much you enjoyed finding sweet stones in the creek and the places you shopped where you found some treasures. If I remember correctly, you bought a copper? Orb , sphere, that your bought and keep on your desk. Stay relaxed and don’t over think the driving. Buy a pack of gum. I’m a big gum chewer. Chew the hell out of that gum and disperse any anxiety.
Fortunately, mercury retrograde finally left my sign of Pisces after 14 years. Whew. Such goodness surrounds me now. I’m grateful.
Have a wonderful trip and look forward to hearing from you next week.
Capricorn here. This is very helpful information with excellent insights. Funny thing…just before I read this I gave my sister some advice. “Be the tortoise.” I think we’re on to something here. I wish you and John Henry a wonderful trip. Perhaps he can have the adventures while you have the peace. ❤️
It's interesting how your feelings aligned with summer mercury retrograde, and influenced your adjustments. As a Libra, I'm trying my best to let mercury retrograde be a time of reflection, rather than another career pivot. I love your analogy with the Border Collie, and relate to the type A personality, but I may be more similar to a Shiba Inu. They are reserved and cat-like in their independence, cautious with strangers, and require a lot of physical and mental stimulation to keep their high energy. Have a safe and peaceful journey to Colorado!
I've been decluttering, too. I remember when I read the description of how Tom Waits lived before he got married, and I was like, me too, brother. I had accumulated some 1200 books and 900 records in my 700 sqft apartment. When my partner moved in in May, I had to make space. I donated all the books I've read (except the ones that are signed), have been replacing physical ones with ebooks, and have been working on reading things on my shelf. A few weeks ago, I cleared out my linen closet, which was almost entirely crap that got tossed or donated.
A further rumination... it's amazing what I can do when I'm motivated.
I've heard an objection to ABA that it uses incentives to get kids to perform desired behaviors.... and that's crazy talk. What do these people think a paycheck is???
Yes, this Mercury Retrograde has been intense, in it's beginning. The earth, full of earthquakes, a volcano, accidents, etc... Oh boy! Well, your advice in your readings, as well, is right on! Enjoy your trip to Colorado, in all it's beauty. Blessings and love to you and John Henry!

I know these Shiba Inus from living in nyc. They are fascinating! So beautiful. They’re on my list of favorite dogs—they are SO not border collies.

The ordinary places matter: the kitchen, the sickroom, the workshop, the porch at dusk. A soul can be repaired in plain rooms with bad lighting.
MRG…Don’t forget to read the fine print!
🩷Have a great, peaceful trip!🌲🌲🌲🌲🌄
