A book talk with Tyler Mahan Coe and cool things with Shelby Lynne, and a new arrival to the household.

I want to put these things on your radar.

Like most 20th-century country music lovers, I have a true appreciation for Tyler Mahan Coe’s podcast. Season two is now a book that will be released September 3. You’ll want to get a copy, of course, and the best way to do that is at this event. Tyler and I will spend an hour together in front of an audience discussing it, then he and illustrator Wayne White will be in the museum’s Haley Gallery to sign it. Join us.

Y’all must know I’m thrilled to be having this conversation with my sister too. It probably won’t be like the conversations we have at home, but if you know us, you know it will probably be something close to that. We are best friends and soulmates and all I can say is we’ll have a good time. She has agreed to play a few songs too. Shelby is receiving the Trailblazer Award from the Americana Music Association on September 18th, so I’m sure we’ll talk about that as well as discuss her new album, Consequences of the Crown. Shelby is also playing the Ryman Auditorium on September 26. I’ll be singing with her and a crack band if the spirits are willing. Get tickets here.
