Hi Substack friends. I hope you enjoy this question and answer series, which I hope to post weekly, on Fridays. It means the world to me to have you here, so thank you again for joining me, and thank you for providing these great questions.
This is a perfect question for today because WISH FOR YOU, the EP that I’ve collaborated with John Henry on, is out today! Thank you, Shelly Marie, for this question. And readers, please also note that Shelly Marie writes Sift. Shift. Lift. here, so check that out.
I love how you collaborated with John Henry on the new album. How has he responded to the album?
Dear Shelly,
Making Wish For You has been a wonderful source of joy for me, and the first time I’ve felt completely free making music. But none of that tops the feeling I have when I see John Henry respond to the songs that we created from his melodic pearls.
The first time I played him a mix of the first song we finished, he completely lit up! I know that he knows those are his songs and he’s very proud. And I’m so proud of him! He also loves to watch the accompanying video, which he has on his iPad.
It is my hope that John Henry keeps creating his own music. Just last night I heard him singing the “Wish For You” melody again.
Thanks to everyone for being so supportive of this musical venture mixed with a genuine celebration of life and making the most and best of what we’ve got.
Love,
AM
