When I get to the end of all your posts, and read the peace and love sign off, I get a very specific image in my minds' eye and it makes me happy. Whenever we make it to a beach, I putter along and collect shells, then stuff 'em in my basement until winter sets in here in Colorado, and then play around with glue and wood and paint and foam, whatever is around. This is last year's work, Peace and Love, attached.
cheers, and thanks for all you give to and do for your fans.

Dear Johnny,
This is one of the things I love about making art — it begets more art.
Someone asked me about inspiration the other day, and I basically said I don’t need to look far to find it because I think it’s in everything around me. Being an artist is exactly that, a way of being, a way of walking through the world, a way of seeing.
Some people might putter along and collect shells, then stuff ‘em in their basement until winter set there in Colorado, and then just leave them there. You don’t. You see something to make, so you make it.
I am honored that my work inspired yours.
I hope you all have a glorious weekend. I will be traveling again with H., but will, God willing, be back to my usual Substack schedule.
Peace. Love.

ps — Kenny and I have studio days scheduled for early October! Saint Seven lives!
Beautiful art! I just want to tell you how powerful your music has been in my life for the last 20 years! I remember seeing Send down an Angel late one night on tv and ordered that CD the next day! The writing and your voice and the production has always been what brings me back to your music time and time again! Set My Soul Free is such a fantastic song. Ohhh God I wish I could write that well!!! You are a rare bird and an artist who never compromised your art! I could list 30 of your songs that have moved me in ways not a lot else does!! Please keep putting stuff out!!
Forever a big fan of yours

I need to create art again. I'm Armenian & this is a tough time for us as another genocide is happening. I struggle to find the words to express my sorrow, pain, & rage. Art can express what we can't say.
