I’m not old enough to be your momma, but can certainly care about you in the same way. Between your words, and what the beautiful black & white pic , along with the Christmas morning sketch (the eyes) tell me.., I’m sending you so much reassurance & love. There are matters of the heart that don’t disappear easily. We may think that after a certain period of time that we should be “well” but it doesn’t go that way. There are triggers & memories, like birthdays that tug at our hearts and can bring it all back. It’s normal to feel those things. Stay focused on your work, enjoy the routine, love your cozy home, your sweet pets, & promise me you will “up” your diet to feed your body & brain. SO VERY IMPORTANT
I love Olive Jones and started following her when you mentioned her before.
Proud of you for keeping the novel in your mind… I have a good feeling about your spring research trip. Not so much for the NOVEL but for YOU. Something special is going to happen. I can feel it.
Have a good week.
xo
PS. I found the coolest thing. Cowgirl Camp! Montana. Check it out. I think you and Shelby would love it!
This one really drew me in this week. Excellent quotes, excerpts, little tidbits of creative evidence. I may have to quote you on my next Substack with regards to this definition because it really helps corral years of asking myself why I am the way I am and fighting the idea of projects and goals: "Autotelic: The autotelic personality is an individual who generally does things for their own sake in the here and now, rather than for some later goal. Common traits include curiosity, persistence, low self-centeredness, and a desire to perform activities for intrinsic reasons only. No external rewards are as important as the process of living and doing things for the sake of doing things."
I juiced my reading totals by finishing the year with several novellas. I had them around, and I'm decluttering so I can renovate my place. Killed two birds with one stone.
Olive Joans , what a find thank you for sharing her music I’ve visited her page listened to her music and her reflections she is coming to the UK in April and I will make sure I’m there
Your weekly substack writing is something I always look forward too thank you for sharing your thoughts we all have our struggles your words and reflections help ease the pain of life
Great job moderating Poets and Prophets with Steve!

I’m liking All In My Head. Thank you.
