The bluntness. And it wasn't just bluntness. I walked into sone traps not being savvy enough to see them. My first week at Michigan, someone asked my SAT score and I just blurted it out. He looked at me like was a freak or an alien. It set the tone for my year there, and I think transferring was inevitable.

Ann Arbor had a lod to offer me, but I soured on it.

“The way you do anything is the way you do everything” is one of my favorite quotes. Loved all this. Thank you!

Limitations may be on a sliding scale. As we get older perhaps we should accept our limitations to a greater extent than those who are younger. We should still try to overcome them but we ought to appreciate that there are increasing physical and mental barriers as we age.

Perhaps we do have a choice. Hopefully our diminishing ability to overcome limitations is complemented by a growing wisdom about our circumstances.

Good morning Allison

What a beautiful week we had last week full of sunshine and bright days. AND, so many birds! Hope you and JH were able to enjoy the outdoors too!

I don’t generally accept limitations of any kind. I do my best to keep my physical self healthy. I love to exercise and I’m proud of my daily diet. My emotional wellbeing quickly follows. 😊

Such a handsome boy you have there! Love the color of his eyes… and he looks to be so content sitting with his momma. It takes a special person to be a cat lover. 😻

Oh before I forget. There is a NEW Lincoln documentary on Netflix. It is so good. Turning out to be my favorite. It shows more of Lincoln’s personality, character & how his early upbringing shaped the man he became. Really amazing. He taught himself to read. Fascinating story.

Have a wonderful week! Thank you for writing.

Love that you honor Abe Lincoln. As a serious student of history, I have come to believe that he is the greatest American who ever lived, and possibly the greatest person of the nineteenth century.

Talent and genius are both products of nature and nurture, but can you be a genius without talent? Creativity and imagination are endless if you find a way to tap into them without fear.
