This short film has been on my mind again lately. Sissy and I filmed this with the late Steven “Flip” Lippman in 2017, a few months before our album Not Dark Yet was released.
It was an afternoon at Electric Lady Studios, in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York City. Teddy Thompson joined us on guitar and harmonies. Hayes was there too, keeping watch.
I love this film. I love the record we made.
I also want to tell you to consider subscribing to Shelby’s substack. I know she’ll do cool stuff over there.

Peace, love.

I knew a little bit about your sister from stumbling across an episode of Daryl’s House. That inspired me to buy one of her albums. I bought the album “It’s Not Dark Yet” purely because the title song is one of those Dylan songs that haunts me especially when I think about the state of the world. This was when I discovered you! But actually it wasn’t because I must have seen you singing Carrickfergus on the Transatlantic Sessions on BBC4. I think it was just that didn’t make the connection immediately. There is something truly organic about the harmonies of family members singing together and I can’t think of anyone who does it better than you and your sister. You are both such a blessing. Px❤️
Excellent. I saw you, sissy and Teddy Thompson at Cadogan Hall on the Not Dark Yet tour. It was a fantastic evening. Come back to the UK and see us soon Allison
