Yesterday morning, I had to cancel my appearance at The Mississippi Book Festival.
Yesterday morning, I had to cancel a small gathering that I’d planned to celebrate dear friends coming to town.
Here’s the thing: Though everyone who can be vaccinated in my household is indeed vaccinated, my 11-year-old son isn’t. In the past week, infection rates among children have risen 78%. Until he is able to be vaccinated, I can’t go anywhere or do anything that will increase his chances of getting COVID. That means if vaccination proof or a negative test result or even just a mask isn’t required at an event, I can’t go. And I am so sad about it. I can’t do my job. Where is the freedom in that, I wonder?
I struggled through my Monday and went to bed praying that today would be better.
This morning, I got a visit from a messenger. And it brought to mind a song of hope. I hope it brings you some today too. Please share it if you feel so inclined.
Sending so much love and positive vibes everywhere on this beautiful day,
AM
You’re such a wonderful mom. Wishing you continued strength and safety, Allison❤️
Thanks for the reminder to turn toward hope. It helps. ❤️
