I made a deal with myself this evening — nothing but positivity in this space this month. June 21 is my birthday, and I like to celebrate all month long. I can’t do that if I’m looking down for what’s wrong about me instead of up for what’s right.
So, this month, I’m not going to think about how far I have to go, but instead about how far I’ve come.
I struggle mightily, as most of you know, but it isn’t because I’m not doing the work. I have a long way to go toward being the sort of person I want to be, but I’m a lot closer to her than I was a year ago, however flawed I still am. I saw a vision of how I wanted to be, and I get nearer to her, and know she is not a mirage. She is real, and she is on my path, just ahead.
Thank you for being here with me. It means the world to have a place to share my works of art, in whatever forms they come. Look out for some joyous new tunes maybe later this summer (gotta figure out how Kenny and I are gonna cook up these tunes for release and we’re working on that), and there are also new paintings on the way.
In the meantime, here are a few things that made me smile today:
The almond flour banana walnut muffins I made this morning.
John Henry having fun at the Y.
The pink petunias in the backyard.
My dogs
My husband
I hope y’all have a great week. And I hope you’re feeling as optimistic about what the summer solstice might bring as I am.
Peace. Love.
Allison
What a wonderful message I wish the Same for everyone on here
I have a feeling that when we look back at it all (from our end) we'll know everything was OK all along
